Behind the Scenes at Nurture Health: How We Build Skills for the Future
At Nurture Health, we believe that investing in our people is key to providing the best care for our patients. This commitment to growth and development was recently exemplified through a unique opportunity—one that combined our dedication to learning with a meaningful cause.
During a fundraiser for the Ruth First Jeppe Trust, an organisation committed to advancing education, a UCT GetSmarter Course was auctioned. In an exciting moment, Nurture Health successfully bid for and won the course. But rather than treating this as a one-off opportunity, we turned it into a platform for empowering our employees.
In line with our core values, our People and Organisational Development Team spearheaded an initiative to invite applications from across our teams. Employees from all corners of Nurture Health were encouraged to share their aspirations and outline how this course could contribute to their personal and professional development. The enthusiasm and thoughtfulness in the responses were overwhelming, underscoring the talent and ambition within our team.
We would like to congratulate Amore Potgieter for being selected for this learning experience.
Upskilling our people is not just a matter of professional development—it is at the heart of delivering exceptional care in physical rehabilitation, sub-acute care, and medical care. By enabling our employees to grow, we ensure that they are equipped with the latest skills, knowledge, and innovative thinking required to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare. As Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." At Nurture Health, we recognise that empowering our team through education transforms not only their careers but also the quality of care we provide to our patients.
Empowered employees deliver exceptional care, solve complex challenges, and help drive innovation—ensuring that Nurture Health remains a leader in physical rehabilitation and sub-acute care in South Africa.
Investing in upskilling also strengthens our organisation's ability to respond to future challenges. Healthcare is a dynamic field, and staying ahead requires constant learning and adaptation. By cultivating a workforce that is resilient, skilled, and forward-thinking, we are not only meeting the needs of today but also preparing for the demands of tomorrow. This aligns with our vision of being more than just a healthcare provider—we aim to be a beacon of excellence in physical rehabilitation, sub-acute care, and medical care.
We are proud to have a People and Organisational Development Team that supports efforts like these, seamlessly aligning our values with our actions. It’s through initiatives like this that we continue to build a future-ready workforce, ensuring we can provide the highest quality of care to those who depend on us.
At Nurture Health, we know that investing in our people isn’t just good for our employees—it’s essential for the health and well-being of our patients and the communities we serve. When our team thrives, so do our patients, and this synergy is what drives us to consistently prioritise learning and growth for all.
