Our new Ballito facility in Durban is looking for a Clinical Assessor to join their team.

Job Specifications

  • Qualified Registered or Enrolled Nurse Registered with SANC
  • Proof of current registration with SANC.
  • 2 or more years clinical experience as a Nurse
  • Clinical knowledge of working with funders
  • Experience working with Coding
  • Own transport and valid driver’s licence
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft programs with efficiency in Outlook as a minimum requirement
  • Ability to function independently
  • Experience in analysis, decision making, time management, oral and written communication

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Assessor needs to maintain a high degree of professionalism within the acute hospital environment for out-patients as well as in-patients
  • Early identification of potential patients for referral and admission
  • Clinically assessing the patients in the acute hospital environment
  • Educating the patient, families, referring specialist and funders regarding admission and process involved
  • Determining medical stability, readiness for program participation, and recommend and identify therapy required in collaboration with the treating physician
  • Communicating and facilitating eligibility of funders for transfer and authorisation
  • Coordinate a smooth transition to facility
  • Recommending appropriate level of care and services for patients who are declined by their funders for admission
  • Serves as liaison between internal and external case managers
  • Demonstrate effective communication with the therapy team in acute and in rehabilitation hospital
  • Providing good outcome data to patient, family, referring team and funders
  • Develop rapport with referring hospitals and physicians
  • Serves as a contact person for the rehabilitation team, internal admission team, patients, and external sources to enhance outcomes
  • Maintaining excellent productivity and efficiency
  • Maintain uncompromising quality nursing care

Marketing Responsibilities

  • Assist Facility Manager with internal tours and presentations
  • Assist Facility Manager with Functions / Training for medical aids if needed
  • Distribute marketing material to referral sources
